Scoil Eoin aims to enable pupils to develop to their full potential. We endeavour to educate children to think and work creatively and critically, to communicate effectively, to work cooperatively and to learn continuously.
Our motto, “Déanann Dícheall Gaisce” was created by one of our teachers and represents the ambition and work ethic of our school. We are very proud of this and always aspire to its message, doing your best achieves success.
Scoil Eoin dates back to 1862 and was the first primary school in Ballincollig. Scoil Eoin today accommodates 460 pupils. We are very proud of our long tradition of providing the best in educational practice and opportunity for our boys. Parents and teachers working together, consistently and caringly, ensures this.
We strive to cherish all our children equally. We attempt to nurture their individual talents, while recognising that each child develops at their own pace. Acting “in loco parentis” each child’s safety and happiness are our first priorities. Our Aistear Programme incorporates play and discovery which is an integral part of each child’s development. Our modern playground plays an integral part in that lifelong learning journey.
Scoil Eoin was the first Primary School in Cork to receive 20/20 vision Green Flag, for its work in reducing the amount of waste going to landfill. 18 years on, we have achieved our 8th Green Flag for our continuing work to protect our environment.
