3rd class had a great day out, participating in a hurling blitz with other primary schools from the local community. Thank you to John Dwyer and the Ballincollig GAA club for organising the event and allowing us to use their excellent facilities. The boys really enjoyed the experience.
The ice-cream van arrived to the school yard yesterday to serve us all up a delicious summertime treat. The pupils and teachers would like to thank the Scoil Eoin Parents & Friends Association for generously organising the event for everyone.
Congratulations to our talented table tennis team. They took part in the Munster Primary Schools Invitational Competition in Kinsale, placing 3rd in division 1 and bringing home the gold in division 2. It was an excellent performance and we are all very proud.
The Cork Primary Schools Sports took place at Munster Technological University on Friday the 3rd of June and the boys of Scoil Eoin did our school proud, winning 2 trophies. Well done to Tarun Vijayakumar from 6th class for his part in achieving Guinness World Record glory. To celebrate National Bike Week 2022, The boys of 5th and 6th class received instruction in cycling safety from Ulick O’Beirne of Bike Wizards. The lesson was a huge success and the boys picked up a lot of helpful tips. We would like to thank Cork Sports Partnership for helping to fund the event.
Ms Mohally’s 6th class were busy learning about the sinking of the Titanic tríd Gaeilge. The topic stimulated a lot of creativity with the boys producing fantastic paintings and stories inspired by the chilling event.
Scoil Eoin is a proud supporter of Darkness into Light. The boys are currently designing posters to help raise awareness for this great cause. Darkness into Light was established by Pieta House to raise money for their essential work, providing free one-to-one counselling to people suffering from suicidal ideation and those bereaved by suicide. A huge thank you once again to everybody that contributed to our fundraising campaign for the Ukraine. We raised €2018 for the Red Cross to help with their essential work, caring for the victims of the war in the Ukraine.
