Safer Internet Day 2017 and Zeeko Internet Safety Talk

Safer Internet Day is an EU wide initiative to promote a safer internet for all users, especially young people. It is promoted in Ireland by the PDST Technology in Education and Webwise. The Theme for Safer Internet Day 2017 is ‘Be the change: Unite for a better internet’ and over 70,000 young people across Ireland joined the celebrations this year.

As part of Internet Safety Day this year Miss Reihill’s 6th Class created and carried out age appropriate surveys of all classes and staff in the school. The results were very interesting.

As a follow on from this day of awareness on Tuesday March 21^st next Zeeko, (a Dublin based training company on Internet Safety for children), have been engaged by the Board of Management of Scoil Eoin to give a 1 hour presentation on Internet Safety to the parents of Rang 2 – 6.  Throughout that day, Zeeko will also run 45 minute to 1 hour workshops for classes from Rang 2 to Rang 6.
