Thank you so much to World and Olympic athlete, Sanita Puspure who found time upon her return to Ireland to pop in to Scoil Eoin! It was wonderful to see Sanita in the flesh and congratulate her, after her excellent performance at the recent World Rowing Championships in Sarasota, Florida. Sanita has worked harder that usual (and that is VERY hard) as she participated in a rowing camp in Spain and then represented Ireland in the World Rowing Championships, along with the other members of the Irish Rowing Team.
Sanita raced brilliantly all throughout the championships in the women’s single sculls, despite a disrupted training schedule this year. She was very unlucky not to collect the bronze medal, but fourth in the world is a fantastic achievement!
We are incredibly proud of Sanita in Scoil Eoin. She sacrifices so much, especially being away from her family. Yet she still continues to be one of the BEST rowing athletes in the world! Also a special thank you to Sanita who despite exhaustion after a great championships, still brought us the mascot to add to Miss Reihill’s collection!
