St. Brigid’s Day or Lá Fhéile Bríde heralds the beginning of spring in Ireland, even though the meteorological season doesn’t officially begin until March 1st. St. Brigid is Ireland’s only female patron saint. Her feast day, February 1st, marks the arrival of longer warmer days, which we welcome this year more than ever.
